M.S. Career and College Counseling
Karen’s interest in international education started with a language program in sixth grade. By the time she graduated from high school, she had studied German, Russian, Japanese and Spanish. Eager to learn more about the world, Karen pursued an undergraduate degree in international studies and studied in Germany during her junior year. After many years of working with college students in private industry and in higher education, Karen was thrilled to return to UCR in 2004 and join the ISRC in 2010. She enjoys helping students to learn and grow through international exchange.
Kelly has studied, lived and worked in Japan. She speaks Japanese and specializes in intercultural communication. She is the campus liaison to the US Department of Homeland Security and US Department of State as UCR’s primary designated school official (PDSO) and responsible officer (RO). With extensive experience in international education, Kelly enjoys promoting international students through campus outreach and looks forward to seeing more international students on campus each year. When she’s not at work, Kelly enjoys reading, swimming and hiking with family and friends.

Becky has worked with international students full-time since 2006. Originally from Wisconsin, she moved to Southern California in 2002. She enjoys traveling and has visited Colombia, Germany, Italy, Mexico and Switzerland. She has a passion for learning about new cultures and seeing students reach their goals.

Wendy has been a part of the ISRC since 2007. Born in Santa Ana, El Salvador, Wendy has lived in California since she was a year old. In 2007, she received her bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in classical studies from UCR.

TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certificate
As a UCR student, Lenore studied abroad with UCEAP in Pau and Paris, France and Mexico City. At the time, she was actively involved with what was known as the International Services Center. Later, Lenore lived in Papua New Guinea, where she learned the yet unwritten language of the native Myus. She developed an alphabet and literacy program and translated the New Testament into the Myu language. Lenore returned to UCR to work in 2007 and joined the ISRC staff in 2012. She enjoys interacting with the international student community.
Administrative Services Manager
B.A. Business Administration
Adrian joined the International Student Resource Center in January 2013 and has worked with UCR since 2011. He graduated from California State University, San Bernardino with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and is currently working toward his master’s degree in business with an accounting emphasis.
Adrian enjoys assisting students in reaching their academic goals and providing the ISRC with administrative services that support the international student community and build a more diverse student population.
